Politics is not a career for me or a goal in itself. It is a way to influence things so that everyday life works better for ordinary people. I want to make decisions based on facts, long-term impacts, and open discussion.

I have worked for over 25 years in technology, digitalisation, and business development. Through my work, I have seen how decisions can either make people’s lives easier or make them unnecessarily complicated. The same applies to politics. Good decisions are made by understanding the real causes of problems, not just their consequences.

Why I got involved

I got involved in politics because I want to bring practical experience into decision-making. I do not believe in constant confrontation or that everything old should be dismantled. I believe that things can be developed step by step when decisions are made honestly and their impacts are monitored.

In my first municipal election in 2025, I received 89 votes and was elected as a deputy councillor. It was a sign that many people in Espoo want to see new kinds of perspectives and more practical expertise in decision-making.

My key themes

• Making everyday life easier for families and ordinary taxpayers.
• Responsible use of digitalisation and AI in public services.
• Improving operating conditions for businesses and the creation of new jobs.
• Managing the economy in a long-term way without unnecessary debt.
• A safe and well-functioning Espoo, where services work also for future generations.

How I make decisions

I have also made my own concrete initiatives. For example, a citizens’ initiative for household-based taxation, with the aim of making taxation fairer than it is today, especially for families with children, students, and single-income households.

I want to build a politics where decisions can be justified with facts. If a solution does not work, it must be changed.

Changing one’s opinions based on new information is not a weakness but responsible decision-making.

My goal is to have an impact primarily in municipal politics. The municipality is the place where decisions show up in people’s everyday lives the fastest – in schools, day-care centres, transport, safety, construction, and services. When the municipality works well, people’s trust in decision-making also grows stronger.

I want to be an approachable decision-maker who listens to people, asks more when needed, and makes decisions based on the bigger picture. I do not promise to solve everything, but I promise to look into matters carefully and justify each of my positions openly.

In my view, the most important task of politics is to build trust in the future. That is why I want to make decisions that stand the test of time and not just the next electoral term.

Society

I believe in a society where everyone has the opportunity to build their own future through work, entrepreneurship, and education. The role of the public sector is to create functional frameworks, not to make people dependent on the system. Technology and AI should make everyday life easier, speed up services, and free up resources for where a human being is truly needed. At the same time, decisions must be economically sustainable and based on researched knowledge. I want to promote a society where families are supported, businesses have the opportunity to grow, and taxpayers’ money is used responsibly. Trust comes from openness, honesty, and the fact that decision-makers are prepared to justify their solutions. A sustainable society is built through cooperation, not confrontation.
